The FI Car Audio Alpha has always been about delivering real FI performance in a shallow, compact, purpose-built package at an attainable price. With the new Alpha Series V2, we didn’t set out to change what the Alpha was—we set out to make it a better version of itself.

The Alpha V2 keeps the unmistakable FI DNA, shallow design, and proven motor architecture of the original while introducing meaningful improvements throughout the subwoofer. The result is a more refined, efficient, better-controlled Alpha that remains compact, shallow, and more affordable than ever.
Available in 10", 12", and 15", the Alpha V2 retains the familiar single-slug Y35 ferrite motor structure that helped make the original Alpha such a versatile subwoofer. Keeping the proven single-slug design allows the Alpha V2 to maintain the shallow mounting depth and compact footprint the V1 Alpha was known for, making it an excellent option when space is limited without stepping away from true FI performance.
At the center of the V2 update is a new 2.75" 4-layer high-temperature voice coil. This new coil design was selected to improve efficiency and overall performance while maintaining the thermal capability and durability expected from an FI subwoofer. It’s another example of the V2 philosophy—refining the Alpha platform rather than changing what made it successful.
Another major change for V2 is the move to dual voice coils across the entire Alpha lineup. Where the previous Alpha utilized a single voice coil, Alpha V2 now provides the wiring flexibility today's installations demand while maintaining the simple, performance-focused nature of the platform.
Suspension has also received a major update. Every Alpha V2—10", 12", and 15"—now utilizes a dual 7" spider assembly with a spider spacer. The separated dual-spider configuration provides better control throughout the subwoofer's movement, helping maintain stability and consistency as excursion increases. Sewn-in tinsel leads provide a secure, durable connection through the suspension system, while heavy-duty push terminals make installation and wiring simple and reliable. Together, these updates create a more controlled and durable suspension and connection system designed to handle the demands of daily high-output use.
We've also upgraded the cone assembly with a stitched surround-to-cone joint, adding mechanical reinforcement to one of the most highly stressed areas of the moving assembly. It’s another detail designed to improve the durability and longevity of the Alpha while keeping the design simple and purpose-built.
The Alpha V2 isn't a departure from the Alpha—it is the Alpha refined.
The goal with V2 was simple: take everything the Alpha was already known for and make it better—without losing the purpose, simplicity, compact size, and value that made the Alpha what it is.
